The development of digital technology has expanded spaces for social interaction, including through online gaming. Roblox not only provides play activities but also a virtual environment where users can communicate and interact. This article aims to explain the role of digital communication in the process of forming friendships among Roblox players, focusing on text-based communication, voice, visual representations, digital symbols, and playing activities together. The article is based on a research proposal with a qualitative approach and a netnography design. Since the source document does not yet include interview transcripts or field observation notes, the results section is presented as a conceptual synthesis and theme mapping of analysis, rather than verified empirical findings. Verified literature shows that interactions in online games can provide opportunities to communicate, collaborate, share experiences, and build social networks. The concept of computer-mediated communication helps explain the role of digital channels, while social presence describes how users feel the presence of others in mediated interactions. This article identifies five aspects that need further research: verbal communication, visual and symbolic communication, collaboration, repeated interactions, and the development of closeness and trust. Field research is needed to see how these aspects specifically play out among Roblox players.
